Estreito de Câmara de Lobos
The vines cultivated in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos are very famous and highly sought after. Tradition still stands strong as it is here where much of the grapes used for the production of the acclaimed Madeira wine come from.
This alluring village is located at approximately 500 meters above sea level and to its visitors flaunts a breathtaking view of the village of Câmara de Lobos.
It´s Markey day! On Sundays the village wakes up to a usual hustle and bustle and farmers sell their high quality produce and fresh fish on the streets.
In Estreito de Câmara de Lobos you will find a number of good restaurants where you can taste a famous regional dish called Espetada (chunks of beef smeared in garlic and salt pierced through a bay leaf stick).
